Boy Scouts Radio Event

A group of boy scouts will be on the air this Wednesday. The boy scouts will operate on 147.225 Mhz. and 146.550 Mhz. starting around 7pm. All amateurs are urged to take a few moments and talk to these guys.

Club Test Session is oct 11th

The North Central Missouri ARC will hold its first test session on OCT 11th. The test session will be held at the KCP&L Community room on east 17th in trenton. VE's should report in about 12:30pm, with testing to start at 1:00pm. The club will hold it's normal club meeting following the test session. if you need directions, feel free to email the club. or check in on the 146.955 repeater.

Club Holds Meeting; Sets Date for Test

The North Central Missouri Amateur Radio Club Held it's normal monthly meeting yesterday at lakeview in trenton. There were 8 members attending. Glen opened the meeting informing the club about an email concerning the needed for operators to respond to Texas to help with Ike recovery. Rodney then updated the club on the VE Status, and a date was set for our first test session. The Club will hold the test session and club meeting on Oct 11th, the time and location has not been determined yet. There are already several people who have expressed a desire to take the exam. Walk ins will be more than welcome for the testing, check back to this website for updates on the time and location. Glen then talked about the need to get a couple of amateur radio operators to help with the Grundy county drive-thru flu shut clinic on Oct 21st. We need a Minimum of 2 operators for the all day event. we need operators with either a portable (hand held) or a base station that can be easily taken portable. Anyone who would like to volunteer to help, please contact glen Before Oct. 2nd! There will be a group of boyscouts operating on the 147.225Mhz Repeater on the evening of Oct 8th, we would like to see if we can get a bunch of operators to join in and help out. if you can monitor the repeater that evening, and talk to these possible new hams. Charlie talked about the plans to have fox hunt coming up this fall. plans are in the development stages and more information will be coming soon. Rodney talked about the need to more heavily promote the club and ham radio in general. several ideas were floated and adopted. The Club will be placeing club meeting announcements on area radio stations community calenders so they may be announced on the air. we are also looking at placing copies of radio magazines in medical and dental offices around the area to possibly promote the club. The club will have a table setup at the Jamesport heritage festival on Sept. 27th. The club Authorized glen to enter into an agreement with Wright Memorial hospital concerning disaster communications. The hospital will be getting a complete ham radio setup and the agreement will setup the ground rules for club members to operate the station in an emergency.

Website Updates and Possible new net?

We've added some new features to our website over the past couple of weeks.. the new forum section is up and running and we've added a new poll to the list of polls. we are also asking people to give there input on whether or not the club should start a net on the 146.955 machine, possibly say a Thursday night night?

Club Repeater Back up and Running

After a long search for a new home.. it's finally here.. the new and improved 146.955 Repeater After nearly a year of searching the 146.955 repeater went live from the Grundy County Courthouse here in Trenton this afternoon. None of this would be possible without the amazing support of the local amateur radio community. The hams in this area banned together to raise the money needed to purchase the repeater equipment and get us back on the air. Many thanks also goes out to the Grundy county commission, through the support of the grundy county commission we were able to move our repeater to the antenna located on top of the courthouse, this antenna will give us an amazing coverage pattern and should allow us to reach MUCH farther than ever before.

Storm Spotter Training

The Grundy County LEPC Will Sponser a Storm Spotter / Skywarn Training on Feb 6th at 700pm.
